Beracare Bio Behenic Active System (BBA) is the refined oil of the seeds of Pentaclethra Macroloba, commonly known as Pracaxi.
 
Pracaxi oil is characterized by its nourishing and functional properties in both hair and skin care. 
 
These properties are due to the presence of a high concentration of behenic acid, a fatty acid saturated with 22 straight-chain carbons, which has amphiphilic properties.
 
In hair care, the efficacy of Beracare BBA was studied by Beraca at 3.0% in a shampoo and conditioner compared to placebo. It could be gshown that the combability and suppleness of the hair is improved. 
 
At the same time, the conditioning abilities were compared with a cationic conditioner in the same concentration. Beracare BBA showed almost 
the same positive properties in terms of shine, spreadability and ease of rinsing. 
 
In addition, the benefits for the skin were also studied ex-vivo.  Beracare BBA helps to reduce melanin synthesis and provide an anti-aging effect by stimulating the production of hyaluronic acid. 
 
Hyaluronic acid is a natural polysaccharide found in human skin and has a high water-binding capacity, which gives the skin elasticity and tone. In addition, the active ingredient increases the density of the collagen fiber network in the dermis.
