Copaiba oil is a very special oil, as it is not classically extracted from the seed, but from the oily tree resin, which can be obtained by drilling a small hole in the bark. 
 
Copaiba oil combines two very exciting properties, because on the one hand, this oil contains a naturally essential fraction and therefore has a very nice and appealing smell. 
 
On the other hand, the oil contains beta-caryophyllenes due to the essential fraction and therefore has anti-inflammatory and bacteriostatic properties.  
 
The bacteriostatic properties were also studied in vitro and specifically the minimum inhibitory concentrations for Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis were determined.
