Murumuru butter, extracted from the seeds of the fruit, acts as an emollient rich in lauric, myristic and oleic acids. It has moisturizing and restorative properties to the hair due to the high concentration of low molecular weight fatty acids. 
 
The application of butter enables the recovery of moisture and natural elasticity of the skin by strengthening the skin barrier, especially in dry and mistreated skin. It also promotes high spreadability for high film forming cosmetic formulations and can be used as a natural alternative to silicone sensory.
 
The Efficacy on the skin has been proven by measuring the hydration and TEWL levels at different concentration of Murmuru Butter. Furthermore a detailed sensorical Evalutation during and after application in comparison to a Silicone Elastomer has been made.
