Award-Winning. Skin-Loving. Mind-Soothing.

Pickmulse™, developed by Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant, is a revolutionary, surfactant-free emulsifier that’s changing the game in cosmetic formulation. Winner of the BSB Innovation Award, In-Cosmetics Green Ingredient Awad and Best Functional Ingredient Award, Pickmulse™ delivers exceptional performance, unparalleled sensory appeal, and a deep connection to sustainability and well-being.

🌱 100% Naturally Inspired
Crafted from organic Bolivian quinoa starch, Pickmulse™ is vegan, allergen-free, biodegradable, and responsibly sourced. It supports sustainable development via partnerships with the Pro Inpa Foundation in the Andes.

🧪 Next-Level Formulation
Pickmulse™ creates Pickering emulsions with no surfactants, producing stable, ultra-white emulsions with a soft, powdery finish. Compatible with glycols, ethanol, pigments, and UV filters, it emulsifies up to 20% oil with 5% usage. It's ideal for everything from light sprays to rich solid creams. Due to the swelling properties of Quinoa, Pickmulse™ has to be processed cold.

🧠 Skin Meets Brain – The Science of Well-Being
Clinically tested, Pickmulse™ uniquely stimulates both conscious and unconscious well-being, activating brain regions associated with relaxation, happiness, and reward. EEG and MRI studies prove it: Pickmulse™ outperforms traditional emulsifiers in enhancing emotional response and skin sensation.

Here’s how it works:

The skin and brain are tightly connected via the neurocutaneous system, with free nerve endings and mechanoreceptors in the skin sending signals directly to the brain.

EEG Study: Showed that users experienced greater relaxation with Pickmulse emulsions compared to traditional ones (e.g. Glyceryl Stearate + PEG-100 Stearate).

fMRI Study: Demonstrated that Pickmulse™ uniquely activated:

✅ Right and Left Primary Somatosensory Cortex – enhancing tactile awareness

✅ Secondary Somatosensory Cortex & Dorsal Posterior Insula – strongly linked to positive emotions

✅ Prefrontal Cortex – associated with well-being

✅ Striatum – the brain’s reward center stimulating motivation and happiness

📊 Results Summary:

  • 4× higher stimulation of somatosensory regions
  • 3× stronger activation of emotional “feel-good”      centers
  • 2× higher activity in reward and motivation zones

👩‍🔬 Validated by Science. Loved by Consumers.

  • Notable improvements in skin softness, balance      and emotional response after just one week
